Introduction

As many facets of life have been altered by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it is important to ensure that our individuals, families and foster care service providers know we are there for them throughout these uncertain times and are a resource to them.

Due to the uptick in covid-19 and flu cases, we have limited face-face meetings for majority of our dealing as an agency, but we are still available via email, phone, text and video chat. For situations where we do need to conduct face-face meeting we encourage the use of personal protective Equipements. We will continue to evaluate this rapidly evolving situation as winter kicks in and infections begin to rise. The health and safety of our staff, clients, and community is our top priority. Thank you for your understanding.

If COVID-19 and the flu are spreading in your community, stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask, keeping rooms well ventilated, avoiding crowds, cleaning your hands, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue. For more information contact your immediate supervisor at the agency or find out more on the state health department’s website and/or the CDC website.

Make Your Environment Safer

Covid-19 and Flu infections have been on the rise in New Hampshire, and the uptick of infections is partly due to people gathering in large events, often in crowded Indoor settings where potentially infected people interactively breath the same air and/or touch surfaces with those who are uninfected. The risks of getting COVID-19/flu are higher in crowded and inadequately ventilated spaces where infected people spend long periods of time together in close proximity. These environments are where the virus appears to spread by respiratory droplets or aerosols more efficiently so taking precautions is even more important. Outdoor gatherings are safer than indoor ones, particularly if indoor spaces are small and without any outdoor air circulating throughout the space.

Wear mask and Wash your hands.

Social distance and sneeze/cough into elbow.

Precautions

Maintain at least a 1-metre distance between yourself and others to reduce your risk of infection when they cough, sneeze or speak. Maintain an even greater distance between yourself and others when indoors. The further away, the better.
  • Make wearing a mask a normal part of being around other people. The appropriate use, storage and cleaning or disposal are essential to make masks as effective as possible.
  • Clean your hands before you put your mask on, as well as before and after you take it off, and after you touch it at any time.
  • When you take off a mask, store it in a clean plastic bag, and every day either wash it if it’s a fabric mask, or dispose of a medical mask in a trash bin.
